"The One Habit That Will Equip You to Hear God's Voice"

Updated: Feb 27, 2023

I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit;

apart from me you can do nothing. John 15:5 The Lord brought me this verse when he placed

JoySoul Connection on my heart. Then later the Lord revealed an analogy to me that helped me

better visualize the importance and truth packed into this verse.

Have you ever struggled to hear or recognize God’s voice?

Have you looked at worldly decisions with your own thought lenses, but then wondered, where

is God in this? Or see other Christians supporting views or not supporting views and wonder what God says?

If you have ever struggled with this or see others that do, I first want to say I’m super proud of

your reflection and desire to ask, “What does God say?” This is the analogy the Lord brought

me: Do you know the Book Where’s Waldo? The character you must search like crazy just to

find on the cluttered scene pages??

Ha-ha… I have such a hard time finding Waldo when I try. It would be so much easier to spot

him if all the scene distractions were removed and it was just him on the page…. This illustration

made me think of Christians trying to hear God’s voice or expecting God to show up in

circumstances in their lives, that aren’t making the time to read their Bibles and be still with the

Lord. (Psalm 46:10) When we miss out on that time, finding the Lord is like trying to find Waldo!

We’re limiting our ability to be in tune with God, his voice, and his guidance. Be on guard Sister,

as this lack of time with the Lord opens our thoughts to the enemy’s worldly influences and it

becomes easier to listen to other “voices”.

What is one thing you can start doing today to increase your awareness of the Lord’s voice?

How will you recognize that whom you are trusting to influence you, knows the Lord?

How will you seek guidance to ensure you recognize his promptings?

I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit;

apart from me, you can do nothing. John 15:5

God Loves You - God Chose You - You are His.
